Kongregate LogoCasual Gaming platform, Kongregate.com, allows developers to upload the flash games they created with a process as easy as YouTube’s. Kongregate then shares their advertising revenue with these developers based on the popularity of their games. Unlike conventional players such as Big Fish Games, all the games on Kongregate are either free or have reasonably good free versions and these games can be played on the browser. Despite not having stringent controls on the quality of the games, Kongregate is able to segregate the good games from the bad by allowing the users to rate the games they play.

The casual gaming market has been booming at an amazing rate in the past few years and local start-ups such as BoomZap, has already had hit games such as Jewels of Cleopatra published on sites such as Big Fish. But for small time developers who are not doing game development full-time would find it difficult to get their games on such sites and Kongregate provides a much simpler solution.

For a start I would recommend games such as Desktop Tower Defense, Boxhead and my personal favorite, Super Crazy Guitar Maniac Deluxe 2 which is a variation of hit game “Dance Dance Revolution”. These games are bound to entertain you for days as they are highly addictive.
